              MAXI workshop on AGN Variability
              March 10-11, 2001,  Nikko, Japan
	         Organized by RIKEN & NASDA
==============================================================

This is the second announcement of a meeting entitled "MAXI Workshop on
AGN Variability" to be held in Nikko, Japan on March 10-11 2001.
The main goals of the workshop are to review our current observational
and theoretical understanding of AGN variability and related subjects,
and to discuss research strategies in the era of next-generation all-sky
and wide-field missions, including MAXI, Swift, GLAST, etc.
Design of the global and multiwavelength network for sharing the
near-realtime variability data and collaboration for analysis in the
above missions will also be discussed.

We apologize for the delay in sending this second announcement.

Location
~~~~~~~~
    The workshop will be held at Nikko Kanaya Hotel, where we have
    booked a block of rooms for the participants.  The remaining rooms will be
    returned to the hotel after the registration deadline.
    Nikko is a historic and scenic town at 150 km north of Tokyo (two
    hours train ride, and three-four hours from Yokohama).  The famous
    shrines and temples (recently registered  as a World Cultural
    Heritage) are located within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
Recreations
~~~~~~~~~~~
    Recreational activities can be arranged on Monday 12, depending on the
    demands of the participants. Two options are a guided tour of the
    temples and shrines (half day) and an excursion to the cross-country
    ski field in the mountain side (full day). Details (including
    cost) will be given later on the web page.
