Dear Colleague,

Thank you for your registration to the MAXI alert mailing list.

We are pleased to announce the beginning of the email notification
from May 19.

Currently, we visually check all the transient events detected
by the automatic nova search system.
If an event is judged to be truly astrophysical, we send an alert
notification to the appropriate mailing list.
(Currently, we have AGN, New-transient, Nova-cv, Supernova, and/or
X-ray-star mailing lists. see http://maxi.riken.jp/mailman/listinfo ).
You will receive the information on a transient event within a few
hours after the MAXI detection (occasionally less than 10 min
in the fastest case!). Further revised information will be often
submitted to ATEL and/or GCN after quick analysis and/or posted as
a news on the MAXI web site.

We have tested the system internally, but you may receive
a few test notification emails in the next few weeks.
Thank you for your understanding.

We are looking forward to cooperating with new transient events
and your contributions to our alert mailing lists.

Best regards,

Hitoshi Negoro
Motoko Suzuki
On behalf of the MAXI Team
